OUR OWN BOAT WITH FOUR DOUBLE CABINS
The boats used for the Blue Cruise are wooden boats of which the
vast majority are Gullets. A Gullet is typically built of pine wood and styled
with a pointed fore and round aft. Traditionally they have been hand made by master
craftsmen from Bodrum area of Turkey, and hence are referred to as "Bodrum type
" yachts or Gullets or sometimes also referred to as "Caiques".
The major difference between the Turkish
and western boats is that the Turkish boats are designed to allow passengers more time on
the deck. The Turkish boats take as much advantage as they can of the pleasant climate of
the South. Large living areas, spacious cabins, WC, shower and a sun deck furnished lounge
area are typical in Gullets. All the pictures on this page belong to our 4-cabin gullet.
